In July 2002, Vishay acquired Tedea-Huntleigh known since the seventies, with an extensive product portfolio and manufacturing facilities in China, Israel and the UK. The focus of Tedea-Huntleigh was – and still is – a range of single point load cells for retail and industrial scales and bending beams and shear beams for industrial weighing platforms, manufactured to more precise tolerances than many competitors, making them easier to install and calibrate, bringing lower cost of ownership to the user. More recently, the range has been extended to include special weight and force sensors for machinery automation and safety systems, whilst maintaining the reputation for tight tolerances and ease of installation and use.
